Confidence and comfort in the water

Established in 2017, Go Swim covers four locations across the North East, with plans to set up classes in new locations too. Classes are held in private leisure club pools in Durham, Gosforth, Yarm and Middlesbrough.

Go Swim Academy prides itself on offering private swim tuition by highly qualified teachers to get the best results from each pupil. Focused attention on each pupil means children can reach their full potential faster. The teaching staff work at a child’s individual pace to put the building blocks of safe and skillful swimming in place – while encouraging a love for swimming too.

Go Swim’s director Phil Brazier’s approach to recruiting staff is based on individuals: “Personality is key. I have built a team of teachers who can all engage with the pupils. To me, getting the best out of children comes down to engaging with them. I want our lessons to be fun and something our pupils – and their parents – look forward to. Every child is different, and my staff are great at working out how best to teach each one. It’s not a one-size-fits-all operation.”

GO SWIM ACADEMY TEACHERS

Go Swim teachers are all Swim England (previously ASA) accredited and trained to a minimum standard of Level 2. Teachers are also fully DBS checked. Go Swim Academy employs a mix of teachers: some trained specially to support nervous swimmers or children with additional needs. Others have swam at a competitive level, representing the UK at international competitions. Whatever the teacher’s background, their commitment to safe, quality swimming lessons is the same.

At Go Swim Academy, the swimming teachers recognise that children all develop at a different pace and have unique strengths. Lessons are tailored to reflect this. Teachers are continually assessed to ensure Go Swim Academy’s high standards and individual pupil requirements are being met. Go Swim’s teachers all welcome a dialogue with parents and any feedback you want to offer.
